UPDATED: JAN 11, 2023 9 November 2022. Bottle from San Diego Wine Co. Bottled: 17/02/2022. Hazy golden, stable, foamy, white head. Aroma of unripe peach & plum, green apple, sour grape, white wine, horseblanket, grass, wet hay, cheese, vinegar. Taste has sour peach, mandarin & green apple over a sourdough-like malt base with funky & cheesy notes; softly bitter hay accent and acidic vinegar. Finishes with 'old' grassy hops, funky hay, acidic unripe fruit and tannic white wine-like alcohol. Full body, moussy texture, average carbonation. A very noble brew, definitely a treat. hman43 (4024) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - NOV 25, 2022
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2022 It pours golden and brilliantly clear with a white head. Head retention is low. It has a strong wine character from the chardonnay with some earthly flavors. There are some grape notes with a hint of leather. It has wine flavors with grapes. There are very low leather and earthen elements. There are some wood elements. It has a medium body with moderately strong sourness. Overall, this beer is quite wine like but not to the point where it drinks like a wine. coachd (2690) - O'Fallon, Missouri, USA - AUG 6, 2022

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2022 2 year, and 2 month old beer. My third or fourth Russian River beer. Gold or dark wet straw color. A very tame and likeable bretty nose, like wet pavement with a little ocean, sweetness and funk in the background. There's a clean and breezy quality. Initial taste doesn't seem to have a lot of depth. Medium spritzy sour mouthfeel. Been sitting here letting it warm a bit, don't understand the 4.11 rating. Just drank a Rodenbach Classic and it moved me. Just didn't get it. Bricktop86 (2010) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 17, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 17, 2021 Slightly hazy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is yogurt, earthy, leather, woody, fruity, and light bubble gum. Taste is light sweet, medium sour, and medium bitter.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2020 Bottle share at Pizza Port, Carlsbad, CA on 29/04/2008. You were blowing my mind here! Really not had many beers like this back then. Woody, gentle sour, some tanin, grapes, and lots more besides. Cimbasso (1905) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2020 Bottle with a cork and a cage, like Champagne. Pours a slightly hazy white gold, with a very fine mousse, just like a Champagne. The taste is fruity, refined and slightly sour. Elegant notes of white wine and greengage are mixed with tropical fruit, lemon peel, cucumber, yeast and freshly cut grass. Some barnyard notes of wet horse blanket. This is a many-layered beer which repays careful and thoughtful tasting. It is a thing of rare beauty - an exceptionally well-made and beautifully balanced beer of remarkable quality.
