Bit of a complex case this one. It calls itself an India Porter, but I would say it’s really a Black IPA. It pours jet black with a strong but transient beige head. The nose has coffee to the fore, but plenty of citrus in the background. The initial taste is sharpness, bitter like lettuce base. But there is also coffee and chocolate with burnt toast hints. The finish is bitter black coffee, and alcoholic warmth in the stomach. Excellent !

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2019 This pours a perfect black with a beige mousse that would make French pattisières fill with envy. There's a strong but subdued coffee, intelligently refined, not overly cloying nor syrupy, just an honest delivery that seems so basic in its elements but somehow seems to elude many breweries on this side of the world. The flavour is smooth barley, honest hops not trying to fry your tastebuds. A great mouthfeel with solid oiliness. Wonderful in all respects, nothing amazingly unique but every element is balanced and delivered in the right amount at the right time. YantarCoast (2775) - Moscow, RUSSIA - OCT 31, 2019
