Poured into a Tilquin stemmed glass. It was a dark brownish red colour, with a thin beige head that dissipated quickly, while leaving only sparse to no lacing. Aromas of cherry, vanilla, blackcurrant, oak, graphite, cabernet sauvignon. Tastes sour, tart, cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry, vanilla, oak, with light notes of caramel, chocolate and bourbon, and a lightly acidic finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall complex and enjoyable. Loved the aroma, while the taste was good but perhaps just a touch acidic.

Flavor is tart, dried dark fruit. Plum, sour cherry, stewed prunes. Soft and supple. Complex, yet extremely approachable. Yum!

Leighton (33722) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 27, 2022UPDATED: NOV 27, 2022 Keg at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017 - London. Pours rich brownish red with a small, off-white head. Nice oaky character, tangy berries, some raspberry, old leather, mellow acidity. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Tart finish, fairly clean. Solid.

Chestnut brown color with no head. Aroma of rum, bourbon , spicy bourbon, lots of hazelnuts, vanilla, mildly roasted malt, toasted notes, rum soaked raisins, dates, brown sugar, some sweet honey, glue, some wood, some dark cherries, light acetic notes, port wine and oxidative notes - complex smell. Medium to full body with hardly any carbonation, a medium to medium-heavy acidity that increases over time, a medium-light to medium woody tartness and very light roasted notes. the flavor starts with acidic notes, acetic notes, balsamic vinegar, ethyl acetate, glue, dark fruity notes, raisins, prunes, oxidative notes, some sherry and sweet wood. Overall very heavy with heavily acidic notes and a bit over the top by any means.

One of three Barrel Aged beers they had on from Lost Abbey, I had them all. Dark and lovely, cherries, raisins and sweetness abound in this cracking beer.

ElDesmadre (6867) - Jaworze, POLAND - SEP 15, 2020UPDATED: SEP 15, 2020 Bottle. Lots of cherries and vanilla oak, cork, blackcurrant, light cocoa. Very sour and very tannic taste, which renders the complexity partly void. Good but not groundbreaking.

Fruity, sourish nose with balsamic vinegar, cherries, prunes, chocolate, vanilla, oak wood and red grapes. Fruity, tart taste with notes of sour cherries, balsamic vinegar, red apples, vanilla, oak wood, red fruit, nuts, chocolate and a dry and tart finish. Alcohol completely overshadowed by tartness and cherries. Medium body, dry. Excellent beer with a generous tartness and lots of sour fruit and wood. Like Rodenbach on steroids. Impressive beer.
