Caramel and toffee notes abound in this deep copper-colored American Barleywine-style ale alongside toasted malt and a hint of ripe dark fruits. Old Numbskull showcases malt sweetness, intense American hops, and an aggressive bitterness. Extremely well-balanced, the full-bodied mouthfeel and assertive hop profile leads into a deceptively smooth finish. Old Numbskull can be enjoyed now or laid down for years to come.

PowY (2848) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - MAY 25, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 25, 2019 750 ml bottle at home. Pours a hazy dark amber with a light beige head. The aroma is medium malty and lightly hoppy with toffee, bread, some honey, some raisins, dried fruits, quiet some pine and light herbal notes. Medium full body with a light to medium sweetness and a light to medium bitterness. The flavor is medium hoppy and medium malty, similar to the smell but with a more pronounced hop presence - sweet malt, honey, bread, toasted bread, toffee, raisins, hints of alcohol, pine, some resin. Finishes with a light to medium hoppy bitterness. Very balanced and with a good drinkability due to the nice hop presence which perfectly balances the sweetish malt. Pdubyah (966) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - APR 19, 2019
UPDATED: APR 19, 2019 I wanted it to have more fullness and mouthfeel, to go with that outstanding aroma and lovely looks. However the underlying alcohol tang made it less enjoyable, not hugely but. Did only that warmness though at the very end and back of the sup. I liked it the more it warmed up, which was in parallel with the amount I drank :-)

ration (2482) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 14, 2019
UPDATED: APR 14, 2019 140419. Bottle at home (aged a few years). Pours clear mahogany with a small head. Aroma ripe fruit, raisins, some hops. Sweet with a hint of alcohol. Tears of joy drip into the glass. It's like suckling the tit of a fair maiden. Staring hard at the perfect figure of the female form. The farm party suffers a land slide loss and the beer gets even better. The Finnish Women's hockey team win the world championship (it was a goal) and it gets to orgasmic levels. Sadly I have to go to work tomorrow. Not Bad.
