Originally posted by GodOfThunder A great season? Just think, for the next 25 years, MSU fans can talk about the time they ALMOST won something of relevance! Penn State and UCONN I know, being ranked #1 for 5 weeks, being relevant most of the year. Where has UCF been this year? Oh yeah, getting beat by shitty teams, again.

If Miss State go to the non-playoffs series of 4 bowls and win.. how is that any different than what UCF did last year? Remember.. no one cares about AAC titles. They are meaningless. And you’ll probably talk about last year till you die..

Nebraska just fired Pelini. While the Husker fan base is delusional.. at least they show some balls here. Iowa would never do that.. and it’s really looking like they need to. Results with their revenue not adding up..

Pelini firing doesn’t make much sense to me. Nebraska is hardly a destination job and you just told his successor that 9-3 gets you fired.

Bring back Tom Osborne chants can be heard around Nebby today.

Pelini didn’t get fired because he went 9-3, he got fired because of things like getting curb stomped by Wisconsin twice in three years and losing three out of the last four bowl games. Throw in some other "unacceptable" loses in the last couple years and there you go. But I really think the two Wisconsin games where they gave up a million yards and five hundred points sealed the deal. Plus losing again to Minnesota after the Wisconsin game and then barely beating Iowa yesterday didn’t do him any favors. That said, Nebraska won or shared the Big 12 title the three years they were still in the conference under Pelini and have never been worse than 3rd (in their half) in the Big 10. I know that I’ve talked to Aaron and Adam about this before, but I just don’t see how you do much better at a program like Nebraska. It’s hard to convince the top flight kids to go to Lincoln, NE instead of schools in places like Oregon, Alabama, Florida, California, Georgia, Texas, etc.

Also, Stanford projected to the Cactus Bowl.
